Atlanta You Can Dance A Few Hours

November 25th, 2008

The Southern Voice reported last month that Atlanta is gaining back a gay dance club of what used to be Jungle.  But sort of.  Last month Wetbar was closed down which was a big dissapointment to the clubbers.  People were beginning to wonder what happened to all the good dance clubs in Atlanta.

Party people got to see the new hybrid club on Halloween weekend when around 11pm the music turned from Country to House beats.  They plan on having this music format change take place every Saturday night making the club Country & Western from 8pm to 11pm then switching to the Dance format.

This is great news for Atlanta since it is desperate to get its nightclub scene back after loosing Wetbar but bad that there is not a Friday night venue.  Now this is only a few hours of dancing in an entire week for those who like house music or top 40 remixes.  Atlanta is once known for having one of the best gay scenes in the states but it looks like it may slowly be making its way back in a very original way.

Hottest Club Flyer of the Month

November 19th, 2008

I try not to post club flyers on this site because I do not want to make it look like some advertisement and I normally do not even accept ads for parties. I do however love seeing hot club flyers and we just had to show this one off as one of the hottest I have seen this month. Check out this military boy.

I found this in my Hells Kitchen Newsletter that comes out once a week.  How I wished I was in NYC to check out Campus Thursdays.

HK Lounge NYC

November 19th, 2008

So a lot of people have been saying lately that “the NY club seen is dead” (or scene as you should spell it). That is simply not true (all that has really happened is that it moved from one party of NYC to another).  The scene has moved north from the Village and  Chelsea up North to Midtown and Hells Kitchen. One of those up-and-coming places is HK Lounge.

HK Lounge is in NYC at 405 w 39th street. The place has been getting more and more packed every week (I know because I like it so much that I practically live there). HK got amazing reviews in HX Magazine for FRAT BOI Wednesdays and also for HOT MESS Sundays both of which rocked last week and where packed to the rim with the hottest boys I have ever seen (not counting the go-go boys). HK will be featured in Page Six Magazine’s “Let’s Do Brunch” section in Sunday’s paper (November 16th issue) Be sure to pick up a copy this weekend or check online at nypost.com.

If that’s not enough the Go-Go boys on Fridays and Saturdays are to DIE for. Between Dante, Sam, Ajuna, and Michael and bartenders like Heran, Eddy, and Mike honestly I don’t know which one I would rather dream about.

The staff in general is nice, courteous and sincere and service is great which adds to the fantastic atmosphere which is classy and laid back but A LOT OF FUN. I really mean it too (I can be found lounging here Wednesday and Friday-Sunday)

So to sum it up, GO TO HK. You will love it! BTW I have also heard that you can RSVP for a free BTL. I think their # is 212 913-9092 or something like that just call them up.  Learn more about this fun lounge at hkhellskitchen.com.

RuPaul to perform at Krave Vegas

November 14th, 2008

Las Vegas has emerged from its dark days where they hid the gay bars away from everyone. Krave has came blasting out of the closet the last few years with some of the best DJ’s and performers. Krave celebrates its 4th anniversary this Saturday. Krave is located on the Las Vegas strip next to the Miracle Mile mall which is connected to the Planet Hollywood Casino and Resort.

Your best bet if you want to see RuPaul perform this weekend is to stay at Planet Hollywood and earn some Starwood points. (Starwood is the hotel chain that owns the fabulous W hotels so these points always come in handy) That way you can walk to the club and get as intoxicated as you wish without having to deal with cabs.

The great thing about this club is its right off the Vegas strip. So close to everything and just a few blocks away from the fruit loop where you will find 8 1/2 and Piranah. Krave even bought a huge billboard above Gypsy with RuPaul hovering over Vegas. Gotta love that!

One of my favorite bartenders works at Krave… Nick Starr. No cover for you locals before 12:30.
This is a good weekend to goto Vegas with Wanda Sykes in town and this Anniversary Party. Wished I could be two places at once!

Sirius Radio Kills the Beat

November 13th, 2008

We knew this was coming when two companies merge it ALWAYS proves bad for consumers. Prices go up normally or you lose something. In this case we lost the entire reason we subscribe to Sirius radio.

Sirius and XM Merged and it proved bad for customers today when they initiated cost cutting in taking out the Beat and reducing their overall dance stations. I will now cancel my subscription to both XM and Sirius and just listen to internet radio. They made room for more Christian and Sports stations but cut out the dance stations. WTF. We should show them not everyone listens to sports who subscribes to satellite radio.

I like BPM and The Beat ch.36 but there is no reason we cannot have both. The Beat was different music than BPM during the day. DJ Armando on BPM is too lounge music-like compared to the more upbeat music you hear on the Beat. I had both because I like BPM at various times of the day but a full all day BPM is too much.. I want my beat back!!

This blows!

Halloween Block Party Pics 2008

October 29th, 2008

The Block Party in Dallas was so much fun this year just like every year.  Most cities celebrate on Halloween but in Dallas it is the weekend before Halloween you see creatures of all kinds strutting the streets.  It brings out lots of hotties and lots of people.  Last year my favorite was the Larry Craig Bathroom who won the contest — we also took some good video of the block party that we will post soon.

Hot Mess Boston

October 23rd, 2008

This is a hot mess too.  Just when you think its Courtney Love its a Drag queen that is impersonating Madonna one night at Empire Thursdays and the Madonna afterparty but she gets the mess award of the year and I looooove it!  This diva was fabulous and put on a great show of being the messiest of the bunch.  Even messier than we were and that gets you some points!

Boston Sundays are much funner than some cities and there were some hotties there too.  Good music and a fun dance on sofa kinda place.  Well it was dance on sofa and on top of the sofa “boxes”.  If that makes any sense.

The Hot Mess music is 80’s and 90’s and anything they say but Boy George.  Aww, why not Boy George?  I think one of his fan club sites links here =)

The address is 279 Tremont Street in the Underground bar located next door to the famous Roxy.  Chris Harris knows how to throw a party!!  See the rest of our Boston club adventure.

Revolution Sundays

October 23rd, 2008

I call it Sindays not Sundays.  There is a new club night in the big metro area of Dallas.  The new Sunday hotspot is at the Thoth Lounge at 1301 Main Street on the corner of Main and Field presented by Axel and Snow Queen.

The cover is only $5 which is way cheaper than the $8 you have to pay at S4 in Dallas.  There is also bottle service and a VIP room and booths available and get this… Valet service.

There are also drag queens, DJ’s and a nice dance floor all ready for the grand opening on October 26th and then every Sunday from then on… we hope…

If they want to compete with S4’s very popular Sunday nights they should have made the club 18 that night.  Most 21 and enter Sundays fail unless they have Daisy D or TP Lords performing especially in a ghost town such as Deep Ellum on a Sunday night.  Consider making the club 18 and $8 for them and $5 for 21.  S4 is charging a whopping $15 on their hip hop/rap Sunday night.  Just a thought =)*
