Harrogate Unitarians are a congregation
of religious liberals who cherish wide differences of religious opinion
and belief. We welcome all who believe there are many sources of truth.
There is no imposed dogma.
The fellowship has at the moment around 12 enthusiastic members, and
three children. Anyone attending our service will find a warm and friendly
atmosphere, where everyone is accepted for who they are as a person, and
not what they believe.
Services
We are fortunate to be able to share the worship room
of the Friends, at their Meeting House at 12a Queen Parade, where we have
our worship service on the second Sunday of each month, starting at 3pm.
As well as the monthly service we have periodically a discussion group
meeting.
We also have a programme for children,
and currently every three months, we hold a family service to which children
are actively encouraged to attend, and at which a leader and activities
are provided.
Our history
The Fellowship was formed in October 25th
1998, with the financial support of the Yorkshire Unitarian Union, The
Unitarian Development Committee, and the Wood Green Trust. We were recognised
by the General Assembly as a provisional Fellowship in April 2000, and
as such are on the GA roll.
